House Democrats announced on August 19, 2026, the initiation of an investigation into an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer who allegedly pointed a gun at Carolina Molina, a Virginia mother, during an incident in Falls Church, Virginia. Representatives Don Beyer, Suhas Subramanyam, and James Walkinshaw met with Molina on Capitol Hill following the incident, which occurred on August 10 while Molina was visiting immigration lawyers.
Molina reportedly yelled at the officers arresting two men before driving away. Video footage shared by Molina shows an officer approaching her vehicle with a drawn gun, accusing her of attempting to run over the officers, a claim she denies. Following the incident, the Department of Homeland Security referred to Molina as an "anti-ICE agitator" and accused her of weaponizing her vehicle.
The Democrats' letter to Attorney General Todd Blanche expressed concern over the incident, highlighting a pattern of aggressive behavior by ICE officers. They requested a civil rights investigation and called for the involved officers to be placed on administrative leave. The letter noted similarities to previous incidents involving ICE officers and alleged intimidation and violence against American citizens. The Washington Examiner has reached out to DHS for comment.
