President Donald Trump proposed an 'AMERICA IS BACK' rally to replace the Great American State Fair after several musicians withdrew from the event. The fair was scheduled from June 25 to July 10 as part of the Freedom 250 programming, which celebrates the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. Musicians cited concerns about the event being politicized as a reason for their withdrawal.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated he would consider holding the rally in Washington, D.C., at the same time and location as the fair. He expressed a desire to be surrounded by 'Happy People, Smart People, Successful People.'
Country singer Martina McBride, who was scheduled to perform, mentioned feeling misled about the event's nature, while rapper Young MC noted that despite claims of non-partisanship, the event was perceived as Trump-backed. Vanilla Ice remained the only confirmed performer for the fair as of Saturday. The Freedom 250 organization was established by the Trump administration to support the America 250 initiative, which is a bipartisan effort.
