Ronald Acuña Jr. clarified comments made on his podcast "La Bestia" regarding his former Braves manager, Brian Snitker, after the Braves were eliminated from the postseason by the Dodgers. During a recent episode, Acuña responded to a question from Brewers player William Contreras about the Braves' coaching situation, stating, "All good bro. They didn’t bother me again. You know that c–ksucker thought he was the king," as reported by translator Phillip Feliz.
Following the Braves' loss, Acuña told The Athletic that he did not intend to criticize Snitker, stating, "I’m not going to violate that code. We were just talking about the past, even things all the way back to the minor leagues."
The conversation led to speculation about whether Acuña's remarks were aimed at Snitker, particularly after Contreras used the term "El gerente," which refers to a manager. Feliz defended his translation amid criticism, asserting that he does not prioritize any MLB team's reputation and that Acuña had chosen to release the podcast episode on an off day.
Acuña and Snitker had a complicated relationship during Snitker's tenure as manager from 2017 to 2025, which included six division titles and a World Series win in 2021. Notably, in 2019, Acuña was pulled from a game by Snitker for not running hard on a hit. Acuña later expressed frustration over managerial decisions in a deleted post. After the Braves missed the playoffs in 2025, Snitker transitioned to a senior advisory role, with Walt Weiss taking over as manager.
In the postseason, Acuña struggled, recording three hits in 24 at-bats without any home runs or RBIs, following a regular season where he batted .255 with 20 home runs and 55 RBIs in 107 games. He has not hit a postseason home run since 2020 and did not participate in the 2021 World Series due to injury. Acuña launched his podcast last month, featuring various guests including family and teammates.
