Buffalo Bills captain Bradley Chubb was restrained by teammates following a postgame incident after the Bills' 37-34 overtime victory against the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium on Monday night. Chubb stated in an interview with the California Post that a player from the Rams 'swung' at him during the teams' meeting at midfield after the game.
Chubb commented, "It was a close game. And, you know, they always catch the second guy, so I let him swing and my teammates held me back and I just chilled." He did not disclose the identity of the Rams player involved in the incident, noting, "That’s not on me to tell who. There’s cameras out there. I just know I’m ready for next week."
Video footage captured by ESPN appeared to show Rams offensive lineman Alaric Jackson hitting Chubb in the face during the altercation. Additional footage showed Chubb yelling at someone before being stopped by injured Rams pass rusher Myles Garrett. Teammates of Chubb were also seen pulling him away from the situation.
Chubb attempted to confront the Rams player again but eventually turned away after speaking with Rams tight end Colby Parkinson. He did not confirm whether the punch landed but stated he was uninjured, saying, "You see I’m smiling. I’m with my team. I’m turnt. We’re ready for next week."
