Tyreek Hill was found liable on two counts of battery in a civil domestic violence case involving his estranged wife, Lakeeta Vaccaro Hill, as reported by multiple sources. Vaccaro Hill was awarded $500,000 in compensatory damages but did not receive the punitive damages she sought. The jury, consisting of six members, found Hill not liable on eight other counts, and one count was dismissed by a judge earlier in the proceedings.
Christi Bright, Hill's attorney, stated that the free agent was satisfied with the outcome. "Mr. Hill was very pleased that he was able to get his story out and to be able to tell the world what he’s not been able to speak about," Bright told reporters, as reported by ESPN. "He’s very grateful."
During the trial, Vaccaro Hill alleged that Hill attempted to punch her in the stomach while she was pregnant in the summer of 2024. Their daughter, Capri, was born in November of that year. "The first time he struck at my stomach and punched it and I saved myself," Lakeeta said while visibly emotional. "He was like, ‘I don’t want the baby.’"
Hill denied that specific allegation and most others in the case, and he was not found liable for that count, according to The Athletic. He was found liable for two incidents, one in January 2024 and another in April 2025, the latter of which included evidence from a nanny cam. In that incident, he allegedly called Vaccaro Hill a “broke bitch” during an argument and attempted to take their daughter from their home.
While denying any physical harm, Hill expressed feeling “deeply ashamed” during his testimony last Thursday, stating he was “able to get people to hurt her.” Hill, a five-time All-Pro First Team selection, remains unsigned, and the NFL announced that his status is “under review.” An NFL spokesperson informed Pro Football Talk that they have been monitoring developments related to the case, which is still under review under the personal conduct policy.
The Athletic reported that the Kansas City Chiefs had contacted Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, regarding a potential reunion to bolster their receiving corps. This week, the Chiefs signed Justin Watson to their practice squad. Hill played for the Chiefs for six seasons, winning the Super Bowl in 2020, before being traded to the Dolphins prior to the 2022 season. He was released by the Dolphins in February after sustaining a serious injury during a game against the Jets in September of the previous season.
