A recent poll conducted by Economist-YouGov found that approximately 70% of Americans support the United States reaching a peace deal to end the war with Iran. Specifically, 68% of respondents agreed that the U.S. should make a deal to end the war as quickly as possible, while 11% opposed the idea and 21% were unsure.
The conflict remains unresolved more than three months after the U.S. and Israel initiated airstrikes against Iran, and negotiations have stalled without a peace agreement. President Donald Trump is reportedly working towards concluding the war, contingent upon Iran's agreement to relinquish its enriched uranium and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
The survey also indicated that 60% of participants oppose the war, with only 28% in support. Regarding the likelihood of finalizing a peace deal in the next two weeks, 58% of respondents deemed it unlikely, while 8% considered it very likely or almost certain.
Despite a lack of progress in peace talks, Trump mentioned he would be open to meeting with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei to discuss a potential deal. Khamenei has not been publicly seen since the U.S.-led airstrikes that killed his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in late February.
