An investigation has revealed an alleged illegal shrine operating in a Hackney office, where a goat was reportedly sacrificed as part of a ritual. CCTV footage from April 17 shows a goat being brought into the building, but it did not emerge afterward. Men were seen leaving the office carrying a heavy bag and a transparent container. The office houses several tenants, including the political campaign group Led By Donkeys. The incident was first reported by London Centric, which obtained the security footage.
Following the footage, a video surfaced on Instagram showing a man holding the goat tightly by its horns, and another video depicted the goat lying motionless as a man chanted over it. The office's interior is painted in dark colors, and the man seen in the footage has a history of similar activities, as evidenced by his social media posts featuring dead birds and animal parts. He appears to be associated with Quimbanda, an Afro-Brazilian religion known for its rituals, which may include animal sacrifice. While such practices are protected under religious freedom in Brazil, they are illegal in the UK due to strict animal welfare regulations.
