The Volusia Sheriff's Office in Florida reported a rescue of a woman from the ocean at New Smyrna Beach on Saturday. Body camera footage shows an officer entering the water to pull the unresponsive woman to safety. At approximately 10:15 a.m., deputies were alerted to a swimmer in distress. Deputy Gourley located the victim floating face down and brought her to shore. After determining that she was unresponsive and without a pulse, Deputy Gourley and Deputy Manhart performed CPR and successfully revived the 68-year-old woman. Beach Safety personnel arrived to continue life-saving measures, and the victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition. The sheriff's office indicated that the deputies involved will receive awards for their actions.
