President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday for a medical and dental checkup, as confirmed by a White House official. This marks the president's third in-person doctor's visit in just over a year, following two visits to Walter Reed in April and October of the previous year. Additionally, he has made two dental visits in West Palm Beach this year, one in January and another earlier this month.
As he approaches his 80th birthday next month, Trump has consistently claimed to be in excellent health, despite ongoing speculation regarding his health status. He has emphasized his vitality and energy as key components of his re-election campaign, often contrasting himself with his opponent, Joe Biden. However, instances of apparent fatigue and a bruised hand have raised questions, which the White House attributes to handshaking and the use of aspirin as a blood thinner.
Last year, Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency after experiencing mild swelling in his legs. In a January interview with The Wall Street Journal, he mentioned the benefits of aspirin for blood thinning. His October visit to Walter Reed was initially described as a routine follow-up, but it was later revealed that he underwent a CT scan of his heart and abdomen, which showed no abnormalities.
Dr. Sean Barbabella, Trump's physician, stated that the president's health remains excellent, with robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical function. He noted that Trump's schedule includes various meetings, public appearances, and golf events.
