Federal prosecutors in Minnesota have charged 15 individuals allegedly connected to two antifa groups based in Minneapolis. U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen for the District of Minnesota and Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent in Charge Michael McCarthy announced the charges during a press conference on June 16, 2026.
The charges include conspiracy to impede or injure federal officers and related crimes associated with opposition to immigration law enforcement. According to Rosen, two of the defendants are not in custody but are expected to surrender soon.
McCarthy stated that the investigation revealed extensive planning and coordinated actions against federal personnel and facilities. He described the charges as significant for upholding the rule of law and preventing violence against law enforcement.
In response to questions about other recent cases against protesters being dismissed, Rosen asserted that no cases have failed and expressed confidence that the evidence will support the charges.
Last fall, President Donald Trump signed an executive order designating antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, and Rosen noted that many of the defendants identify as members of this group.
