Republican Senator Katie Britt accused former President Joe Biden's administration of being responsible for an alleged terror plot aimed at disrupting an event for Donald Trump's 80th birthday UFC fight night at the White House. During an appearance on Newsmax, Britt claimed that the administration's border policies allowed known terrorists to enter the country, describing this as a 'dereliction of duty.'
The FBI Director, Kash Patel, announced on Tuesday that multiple individuals had been apprehended in connection with the alleged plot involving explosive drones. Court documents revealed that a 19-year-old Ohio resident, Tycen Proper, admitted to planning the attack with others via TikTok before moving to the encrypted messaging app Signal.
It remains unclear whether the other suspects were indeed known terrorists, as Britt suggested. Biden, who left office in January, was not briefed on the plot when asked about it at the G7 Summit. Patel noted that the FBI became aware of the threat on June 10 and initiated a multi-state operation to arrest individuals before the event. Reports indicated that some U.S. Secret Service agents were dissatisfied with Patel's announcement, as the case was still sealed in court and several suspects had not yet been arrested.
