FORT WORTH, Texas — Construction is underway near the Fort Worth Water Gardens as Texas A&M University expands its law school facilities. The university aims to establish a prominent hub for legal education, business innovation, and public service. In 2022, Texas A&M School of Law was ranked No. 46 among 192 law schools, but it has since improved to No. 22, surpassing several established institutions. Lawrence Solum, a constitutional law scholar, noted the school's rapid rise in rankings and reputation. Significant donations, including a $5 million contribution from Leonard Leo, have supported this growth.
The law school recorded a 97.42% pass rate for first-time takers of the July Texas Bar Exam in 2024, the highest in its history. The school emphasizes practical legal education, which has contributed to its reputation and student success. Texas A&M is also expanding its programs for working professionals through its Master of Legal Studies degree.
The growth of Texas A&M Law is aligned with broader economic development plans for downtown Fort Worth, with the university investing in infrastructure and partnerships to enhance the legal and economic landscape of Texas. The law school plans to continue expanding its faculty and programs to attract students from across the country.
