Perry died on October 28, 2023, after an apparent drowning in a hot tub at his home. The U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Martin Estrada, reported that the defendants had distributed approximately 20 vials of ketamine to Perry for around $50,000.</p><p>Over a month leading up to Perry's death, Iwamasa procured over $55,000 worth of ketamine. He was instructed by Dr. Salvador Plasencia on how to administer the drug to Perry, who had been introduced to Plasencia by Iwamasa. The day before Perry's death, Plasencia communicated with Iwamasa about the supply of ketamine.</p><p>Iwamasa pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death on August 7.</p>
