Ohio couple arrested for assault on cruise ship

An Ohio couple, Gannon Jacox, 29, and Brooklyn Hicks, 28, were arrested after allegedly forcing their way into a family's cruise ship cabin and attacking two adults and their 9-year-old child. The incident occurred after the couple was asked to quiet down while arguing loudly after consuming alcohol. According to Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey, Hicks confronted one of the victims, while Jacox recorded the encounter and encouraged Hicks to attack. The couple then entered the family's cabin, where a fight ensued, resulting in Jacox hitting all three victims and Hicks throwing punches. Jacox sustained an eye injury during the altercation. Both Jacox and Hicks were charged with burglary with battery, and Jacox also faced charges of child abuse without great bodily harm. None of the victims sustained serious injuries. The cruise ship involved has not been identified, and four cruise ships were scheduled to dock at Port Canaveral on the day of the incident. Sheriff Ivey cautioned cruise passengers about the dangers of excessive drinking.
