Secret Service Concerned Over Letters from Natalie Harp to Trump, Says Reporter

Maggie Haberman, a reporter for the New York Times, stated that letters sent by Natalie Harp to former President Donald Trump raised concerns within the Secret Service. The letters, which were published in full by the Daily Beast, contain expressions of admiration and devotion from Harp, who is a special assistant to Trump. Haberman noted that the Secret Service found some of the correspondence alarming, particularly due to Harp's intense dedication to the president. Harp has been known to leave letters for Trump in his personal spaces during his time in office. Haberman mentioned that these letters were sent in 2023, prior to Trump's re-election, and highlighted Harp's role in providing unfiltered information to the president. Harp expressed a desire to have a more personal relationship with Trump and shared feelings of burnout in her current role. The letters also included apologies for minor mistakes during official trips and reflected her deep admiration for Trump, whom she referred to as her "Guardian and Protector."
