Natasha Cloud, a guard for the Chicago Sky, shared a message supporting the transgender community following an altercation with Enes Kanter Freedom during a game against the Indiana Fever. The incident occurred in the third quarter when Cloud scored, prompting a timeout from the Fever. Freedom approached Cloud, leading to intervention from Sky players and security. Freedom was subsequently escorted out of the arena and did not return for the remainder of the game. Cloud later posted on Threads, stating, "To every trans kid/person, You are part of MY community & tribe. You belong. You’re loved. You’re seen. You’re perfect as you are. & you will always be protected by me." This message was interpreted as a response to Freedom, who had expressed intentions to compete in the WNBA and wore a T-shirt defining a woman as "adult human female." Following the altercation, Freedom took to social media, stating he was removed from the game for supporting women.
