Jeanie Buss Files Petition to Block Siblings' Sale of Lakers Ownership Stake

The conflict involves five of her siblings—Jim, Johnny, Janie, Joey, and Jesse Buss—who voted to sell the family's 17.8% ownership stake to Josh Kushner and Bob Iger, the soon-to-be majority owners. Kushner and Iger have agreed to purchase the majority shares from Mark Walter for a valuation of $12.5 billion, which is an increase from the $10 billion valuation at which Walter acquired the team from the Buss family less than a year ago. In her petition, Jeanie Buss described her siblings' actions as 'devious' and claimed she was 'blinded' by the attempted sale. She also stated that a family statement provided to ESPN last week was 'knowingly false,' asserting that she was never consulted or informed about the sale.
