In a statement to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Ossoff, who is Jewish, stated that he "unreservedly rejects reckless and dangerous rhetoric suggesting that policy advocacy invites violence against the Jewish community or any community." He emphasized that American Jews and all Americans should be able to express their views without fear of reprisal.
In response, Piker described the media's reaction as a "credibility crisis" and implied that Ossoff was part of a "bought & sold political class." Piker had previously referred to Ossoff as a potential candidate for the 2028 presidential election, praising his focus on issues rather than attacking his political allies.
Piker further criticized the media's portrayal of the situation, stating, "the last 48 hr media frenzy is exactly why people don’t trust institutions from corporate media to our bought & sold political class." He expressed a belief that the current media landscape has benefited his career as an independent media figure, despite his hope for the preservation of traditional media institutions.
Several Democratic lawmakers, including Cory Booker, Elissa Slotkin, and Jacky Rosen, have condemned Piker's remarks. Rosen characterized Piker's comments as a "new low" and accused him of perpetuating antisemitic tropes. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries stated that Piker's claims were dangerous and antisemitic, asserting that there is no justification for threats against the Jewish community.
Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed, who had previously appeared with Piker, distanced himself from the streamer, asserting that only he and his campaign spokespeople represent his campaign. He affirmed the right of all Americans to advocate for their beliefs without fear of violence, particularly for historically marginalized communities.
Piker has suggested that the backlash against him is influenced by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), which he claims he welcomes. Fox News Digital has reached out to both Ossoff's office and Piker for further comments.
