Scientists Investigate Climate Change's Role in Nepal-Tibet Flood Disaster

Scientists are examining the causes of the flooding disaster in Nepal and Tibet, with a focus on potential links to climate change. The investigation seeks to understand the factors that contributed to the catastrophe. In recent months, countries worldwide have experienced more severe weather events, raising questions about the implications of such disasters. Pema Gyamtsho, Director General of the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development, which is based in Kathmandu and includes eight member nations in the Hindu Kush Himalaya region, is among those involved in the discussions. Other experts include Benjamin Horton, Dean of the School of Energy and Environment and Professor of Earth Science at City University of Hong Kong, and Wolfgang Cramer, Emeritus Research Director at the French National Centre for Scientific Research in Marseille.
