Gaza’s Health Ministry reported increasing casualties amid intensified Israeli attacks, with victims trapped under rubble. Israeli strikes across Gaza have resulted in at least four deaths and multiple injuries, including a strike on a medical supply warehouse within the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital complex in Deir el-Balah on Saturday, injuring three individuals, according to the hospital’s director. The Israeli military confirmed it targeted a site within the hospital compound, asserting that a Hamas commander was hit, although no evidence was provided.
Medical aid NGO Doctors Without Borders (MSF) expressed concern regarding the air strike within the Al-Aqsa Hospital compound, noting that this incident follows a previous strike on the same complex that destroyed medical supply warehouses. MSF emphasized the importance of respecting the neutrality and protection of medical facilities during conflicts.
Additionally, an Israeli drone strike in Gaza City’s Tal al-Hawa neighborhood killed two people and injured others, as reported by the Palestinian Wafa news agency. The injured were transported to al-Quds Field Hospital. Another strike in Khan Younis resulted in one death and several injuries, with one individual in critical condition taken to Nasser Hospital. Earlier, Israeli gunfire killed one Palestinian in the village of al-Musaddar, east of Deir el-Balah.
An Israeli quadcopter also dropped an explosive device near Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, according to hospital officials. Israel has increased its military actions in Gaza despite the ongoing “ceasefire.”
On Saturday morning, Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported a total of 10 bodies received in 48 hours, including nine newly killed and one recovered from rubble, alongside 18 wounded individuals. The ministry indicated that other victims remain trapped beneath collapsed buildings or on roads inaccessible to ambulance and civil defense teams.
Since the “ceasefire” between Israel and Hamas began in October last year, the ministry stated that 1,313 Palestinians have died due to Israeli attacks. The Palestinian Centre for Missing and Forcibly Disappeared Persons reported that between 4,000 and 5,000 Palestinians are still missing and believed to be under rubble in Gaza, with estimates suggesting that 2,500 to 3,000 individuals may have experienced forced disappearance during the ongoing conflict. This estimate is based on an analysis of 317 cases, indicating a potential pattern of enforced disappearances. Of the examined cases, 302 were male, 15 were female, and included 41 children and 17 individuals aged 60 or older. Since the conflict escalated in October 2023, over 73,000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed in Gaza, with more than 174,000 injured, primarily women and children.
