Apple Increases Prices for Apple TV and Apple One Subscription Services

Apple announced a price increase for its streaming service, Apple TV, on Friday, raising the monthly fee from $12.99 to $14.99, and the annual subscription from $99 to $119. Additionally, the price for the Apple One subscription, which includes Apple TV along with other services such as iCloud storage, Apple Music, and Apple Arcade, has increased from $19.95 to $21.95 for an individual plan. This marks the second price hike for Apple TV since its launch; the last increase occurred a year ago when the price rose from $9.99 to $12.99. Other streaming services, including Peacock, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney+, Paramount+, Max, and YouTube Premium, have also raised their prices in recent years. Apple TV was initially priced at $4.99 per month upon its launch in 2019. The service features popular shows such as 'Ted Lasso,' 'Your Friends and Neighbors,' 'The Morning Show,' 'Severance,' 'Silo,' and 'Mark Matter,' and holds exclusive rights to the Charlie Brown specials and Formula 1 racing. In July, Apple also increased the price of Apple Music from $10.99 to $11.99 per month. In its latest earnings report, Apple reported a record revenue of $109.4 billion for the June quarter, surpassing analysts' expectations of $108.65 billion. This growth was attributed to a 22% increase in iPhone sales and record revenue from Mac sales during the spring quarter, along with tariff refunds that contributed approximately 5% to profit during the period.
