<p>Former President Barack Obama is scheduled to return to the campaign trail for a fundraising event on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, on Monday, ahead of the November midterm elections. This comes as President Donald Trump and his political advisers are actively fundraising for competitive races.</p>
<p>Obama will headline a fundraiser for the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, led by his former Attorney General Eric Holder. This event follows the Republicans gaining at least 10 additional GOP-leaning congressional districts through early redistricting.</p>
<p>The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has reported being out-fundraised by the Republican National Committee (RNC) and has a reported debt of $18.5 million as of the end of June.</p>
<p>When questioned about the Democratic Party's reliance on Obama, a source familiar with his views stated that he prefers to transition from an active role to a supportive one, helping the next generation of Democratic leaders.</p>
<p>Obama has endorsed several Democratic candidates, including Texas Senate nominee James Talarico and Iowa Senate nominee Josh Turek. The source noted that Obama supports candidates through various means, including attending fundraisers and providing private counsel.</p>
<p>Despite concerns about overreliance on Obama, some party strategists, including Mike Nellis, expressed support for his involvement, citing his positive approval ratings. Nellis stated that many people are eager to see Obama, especially given Trump's low approval ratings.</p>
<p>Another strategist, Garry South, urged Obama to take a more active role in opposing Trump, arguing that the current political climate requires a more aggressive approach rather than a passive one.</p>
<p>A poll conducted by CNN and SSRS in June indicated that 57% of the public viewed Obama positively, compared to 34% for Trump and 30% for President Joe Biden. Former President Bill Clinton had a favorability rating of 38% in the same poll.</p>
<p>Obama's fundraiser coincides with Vice President JD Vance's first public campaign rally for Trump's super PAC, MAGA Inc., in Michigan, supporting Republican nominees for Senate and governor.</p>
<p>Although Trump and his advisers have gained an advantage in congressional races post-redistricting, they have faced criticism for not utilizing the $400 million cash on hand disclosed by MAGA Inc. at the end of June.</p>
<p>MAGA Inc. reported a cash advantage over the DNC, with $130 million compared to the DNC's $16 million, despite the latter's debt.</p>
<p>MAGA Inc. recently disclosed its first major spending for the 2026 election cycle, including $828,000 on a special election primary runoff campaign.</p>
<p>According to MAGA Inc. spokesman Alex Pfeiffer, the organization will host events nationwide to ensure Republican control of Congress.</p>
