Fort Worth Fire Department Rescues Individual from Crane at JPS Health Hospital

<p>Responders rescued an individual from the cab of a crane in Texas on Saturday, according to the Fort Worth Fire Department.</p><p>The department detailed the rescue in a Facebook post, noting that the individual was approximately 220 feet high.</p><p>The Fort Worth Fire Department Alarm Office received a call for a medical emergency at 11:50 AM on Saturday, explaining that the location was at the construction site of JPS Health Hospital. Upon arrival, crews found that the patient was located inside the crane cab, approximately 220 feet in the air.</p><p>Responders climbed up, provided medical aid, and lowered the individual to the ground, as noted by the department.</p><p>When technical rescue teams arrived on the scene, they gathered gear and began their ascent up the crane’s ladder, carrying all necessary equipment for the rescue.</p><p>Upon reaching the top of the crane, over 22 stories high, they initiated emergency medical care while devising a plan for the patient’s safe descent.</p><p>Once the patient was secured with ropes and rigging, the crews lowered him to the ground. This entire process took less than an hour from the initial contact with the patient.</p><p>The department shared multiple photos of the rescue effort. The crane operator was subsequently transported to the hospital in stable condition.</p>
