The event will be hosted by Damon Lindelof and his wife, Heidi, in Brentwood, with ticket prices ranging from $500 to $13,500. This marks Talarico's second Hollywood fundraiser in a few months, following a previous event in June hosted by producer Peter Chernin.</p><p>In contrast, Talarico's opponent, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, will participate in the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention in Dallas on the same night, alongside President Donald Trump and other Republican figures. Additionally, former President Barack Obama is set to headline a Democratic House fundraiser in New York that evening. These events highlight the geographical divide, with prominent Democrats fundraising on the coasts while Republicans gather in Texas.</p><p>According to campaign finance records, approximately 50% of the funds raised by Talarico have come from donors outside Texas. Talarico has faced criticism from Republicans regarding his out-of-state fundraising efforts. RNC spokesperson Zach Kraft commented that Talarico appears more comfortable in California than in Texas, suggesting he is not authentic in his representation of Texas values.</p><p>Talarico, who currently serves in the Texas House of Representatives, has been criticized for various statements, including those regarding gender and climate change. Despite these criticisms, Talarico and Paxton are in a competitive race, with a Fox News poll from July indicating Talarico had a slight lead over Paxton, 51% to 48%, within the margin of error.</p><p>Paxton has remarked that Talarico’s lead is expected due to his early start in the general election following a contentious primary. Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana noted that fundraising is a critical factor in the race, urging Trump to assist Paxton financially.
