<p>Tim Curry's cause of death has been confirmed. According to documents from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, obtained by Fox News Digital, Curry died at age 80 on August 25 from coronary artery disease. The department also noted that Curry had a history of stroke and kidney cancer, which contributed to his death.</p><p>The document specified that Curry did not undergo surgery for a stroke, kidney cancer, or coronary artery disease.</p><p>Curry's death was confirmed by his publisher, Jimmy Franco, senior director of publicity at Grand Central Publishing. Franco stated, "Yes, it is true and very sad indeed," but did not provide further comments.</p><p>The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that officers responded at approximately 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday for a death investigation involving a male in his 80s at home, and no foul play is suspected.</p><p>Curry became a pop-culture icon after his role as Frank-N-Furter in the 1975 film "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," having originated the role in the 1973 London stage production before bringing it to Broadway and the big screen.</p><p>The cult classic, which also featured Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, and Meat Loaf, is known for its midnight screenings, audience participation, and songs including "The Time Warp."</p><p>Curry was also recognized for his portrayal of Pennywise in the 1990 miniseries "It," Wadsworth in "Clue," the concierge in "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York," and Cardinal Richelieu in "The Three Musketeers."</p><p>His career spanned theater, film, and television. Curry received three Tony Award nominations for "My Favorite Year," "Amadeus," and "Spamalot." He won a Daytime Emmy Award and received a Primetime Emmy nomination.</p><p>The British actor suffered a major stroke in 2012 that left him using a wheelchair.
