<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><em>Washington Examiner</em> columnist <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/white-house/4711594/vance-confidence-iran-affordability-joe-concha/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Joe Concha</a> stated that British fashion editor and former editor-in-chief of Vogue <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/?s=anna+wintour" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Anna Wintour</a> should “take the L” after the cancellation of a proposed Met Gala exhibit honoring designer John Galliano.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Concha remarked on Fox News’s “<a href="https://www.foxnews.com/shows/the-faulkner-focus" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><em>The Faulkner Focus</em></a>” that Wintour, who has been a prominent figure in the fashion industry for 37 years, may face significant repercussions following the exhibit's cancellation.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Metropolitan Museum of Art decided to cancel plans for a 2027 Met Gala exhibit dedicated to Galliano due to backlash over his past racist and antisemitic remarks. Galliano was convicted of a hate crime in France in 2011, which stemmed from a video where he made the statement, “I love Hitler,” as reported by CNN.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Following the cancellation, Wintour expressed her support for Galliano, stating, “John’s decision that the exhibition devoted to his work should not take place at this time is very courageous and a measure of the man he is.”</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Concha commented on the rising antisemitism in the country, saying, “Just take the L. You screwed up on this one, and she’s been dying on this hill for many years. She’s trying this whole rehab effort of John Galliano where, again, once you say that you love Hitler, I don’t care if you said it years ago, that is disqualifying.”</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">He further highlighted concerns regarding antisemitism by referencing Twitch streamer Hasan Piker, who has faced criticism for his comments, including remarks like “America deserved 9/11.”</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Concha noted that the failure of politicians such as Abdul el Sayed and Zohran Mamdani to disavow Piker by name suggests a troubling acceptance of antisemitism for political gain.</p>
