Prosecutors Comment on Mistrial in Lindsay Clancy Case

Prosecutors in the Lindsay Clancy case held a press conference outside the courthouse on Friday following the declaration of a mistrial. Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz stated, "I understand that this has been an emotional trial for everyone." He emphasized that the case was centered on Lindsay Clancy and the alleged killing of three children, referring to it as "the cruel and calculated killing of three innocents." Cruz reiterated, "This was and has always been about getting justice for those beautiful babies. Children were murdered and it's our job to seek justice." He noted that there would not be an immediate decision regarding a second trial. Cruz also clarified that the case was not focused on the healthcare system or the treatment of women, despite acknowledging the impact of postpartum depression on many families. He stated, "The investigation in these heinous killings, however, did not establish that they were caused by such depression." As the press conference concluded, some attendees expressed their emotions, with one person yelling, "You only cared when the kids were dead. Why didn't you care about the mother?" Another attendee shouted, "God bless those children."
