Jacobs faces one misdemeanor count of battery and one count of criminal damage to property following allegations that he assaulted his girlfriend during a dispute on May 23 at his Brown County residence. Prosecutors claim that the altercation began after she accused him of communicating with other women, leading to Jacobs allegedly throwing her to the ground and damaging her phone. A portion of the incident was reportedly captured on video. Jacobs was arrested on May 26 and formally charged on August 27, after which he was placed on the commissioner’s exempt list.
