Fenerbahce Players Greenwood and Guendouzi Fined and Suspended After Post-Match Incident

Fenerbahce players Mason Greenwood and Matteo Guendouzi have been suspended and fined following a brawl after their club's Champions League playoff second leg against Lyon. The match, held last month, ended in a 2-1 victory for Fenerbahce, allowing them to progress 3-2 on aggregate. After the final whistle, Greenwood and Guendouzi, both former players for Lyon's rivals Marseille, were involved in a confrontation with players and coaching staff from both teams. UEFA announced that Guendouzi has been suspended for a total of four UEFA club competition matches for insulting others present, provoking spectators, and violating basic conduct rules. Two of these matches are subject to a one-year probationary period. Guendouzi was also fined 50,000 euros ($58,000) for actions including giving the middle finger to Lyon supporters. Greenwood received a one-match suspended ban and was fined 30,000 euros ($35,000) for violating basic conduct rules.
