Los Angeles Family Found Dead in Home Fire, Investigation Underway

A married couple and their young son were found dead inside a burning home in Maywood, Los Angeles, in what authorities are investigating as a murder-suicide. Deputies from the East LA Sheriff’s Station and personnel from the LA Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. After extinguishing the flames, emergency responders searched the home for potential victims. Inside a bedroom, they discovered three deceased individuals: a man and a woman in their late 40s, along with a boy under the age of 10, all suffering from gunshot wounds. A handgun was recovered from the scene, and preliminary investigations suggest that the father was the shooter, according to the police. All three were pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the two adults were married and the child was their biological son. The identities of the deceased have not been released pending family notifications.
