<p>A cargo plane overshot the runway and crossed a road at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon.</p>
<p>“21 Air Flight 7598 overran the runway after landing at Miami International Airport around 2 p.m. local time on Sunday, Sept. 6,” the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated in a press release. “The Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft departed from Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The FAA will investigate.” The incident resulted in heavy black smoke rising into the air, according to videos posted online, and a ground stop was immediately ordered to prevent planes from departing the airport.</p>
<p>“Over 60 Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units are on scene of an incident involving a plane that overran a runway and struck multiple vehicles near Miami International Airport,” Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reported in a statement. “Units arrived to find an airplane that had caught on fire as a result of this crash, with heavy flames and smoke showing. Firefighters are working on extinguishing the fire and assessing patients.”</p>
<p>Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy stated that the FAA will send inspectors to investigate and advised travelers in the area to expect significant delays and potential cancellations.</p>
<p>It is unclear what caused the incident and how many injuries have occurred.</p>
