Jannik Sinner attended the Italian Grand Prix in Monza on Sunday after announcing he would miss the U.S. Open due to a knee injury. The world No. 1 briefly discussed his rehabilitation, stating to La Repubblica, "My knee? Everything is fine," but did not provide further details. Sinner has not played a competitive match since winning the Wimbledon title in July. He developed the knee injury after the grass court tournament, which was his first of the year. Sinner withdrew from the Cincinnati tournament and subsequently announced his absence from the U.S. Open. He attended the race with fellow Italian tennis player Matteo Berrettini, who was eliminated in the second round of the U.S. Open. The two were photographed with DJ Peggy Gou at the event. Sinner and Berrettini witnessed Kimi Antonelli become the first Italian winner of the Grand Prix since 1966, ending a 60-year drought. After the race, Sinner expressed support for Antonelli, stating, "I think he has a good chance to go very far. He has the engine. He has the car. So, I wish him all the best."
