The company emphasizes the safety and privacy features of Muse, which is currently available only in the United States. Muse operates on a secure virtual machine that stores both the agent and user data.
Users can interact with Muse through a dedicated app or via WhatsApp. The AI agent can perform simple tasks like sending emails or booking travel, as well as assist with larger goals such as creating a yearlong exercise plan or establishing a new business. According to Meta, once a user shares a goal with Muse, it helps develop a personalized plan, coordinates time and resources, and can even advance tasks autonomously, including opening browsers, filling out forms, and negotiating on behalf of the user.
Tech companies are promoting AI agents as an advancement beyond traditional chatbots, which primarily answer questions and retrieve information without taking action. At its core, an AI agent functions like a computer program that executes tasks, but when combined with a large language model, it can perform tasks without needing explicit instructions.
