Steelers rookie Max Iheanachor reports over $150,000 in stolen merchandise from home burglary

Max Iheanachor, a first-round pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was the victim of a home burglary on August 26, with reports indicating that over $150,000 worth of items were stolen from his residence in the Mount Washington neighborhood. According to WTAE, the burglary occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., during which a rock was thrown through a window, causing damage to the property. The Athletic reported that the stolen items included jewelry and designer handbags, with the total value estimated between $150,000 and $250,000. No arrests have been made in connection with the burglary. This incident follows a trend of burglaries targeting professional athletes, particularly NFL players, over the past two years. Notable athletes such as Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Bobby Portis have also reported similar incidents. Two Chilean nationals allegedly involved in a series of burglaries targeting high-profile sports figures fled to Argentina and were arrested there in the spring. Federal prosecutors in Florida have requested their extradition to the United States as of August. Iheanachor, who faced an injury during training camp, played at Eastern Los Angeles College and Arizona State before being drafted 21st overall by the Steelers in 2026. He is currently listed as the team's No. 2 right tackle ahead of their Week 1 game against the Falcons.
