An alleged drunk driver in Florida, Elizabeth Boucher, was arrested after crashing her Ford Bronco into a parked Honda in Daytona Beach on August 30. According to the Daytona Police, Boucher, 24, was suspected of driving under the influence when she collided with the parked vehicle, pushing it across the front lawn of a residence. Security footage captured the incident, showing Boucher's vehicle spinning its tires and sending debris into the air.
The owner of the parked car was informed of the crash by a neighbor and confronted Boucher, leading to a physical altercation. The victim reported that Boucher approached her aggressively and struck her, prompting the victim to retaliate. Boucher then followed the victim back to her home, where further confrontation occurred before police arrived.
Upon police arrival, Boucher exhibited signs of intoxication, including difficulty standing and confusion about her situation. She initially handed an officer her passport instead of her driver's license and expressed surprise at being informed she was involved in a crash. Officers noted discrepancies in her account of the incident, with one officer stating, "You didn’t just hit the front of the car, you took the car completely off."
Boucher was uncooperative when asked to submit to sobriety tests and attempted to leave the scene. She was subsequently handcuffed and charged with multiple offenses, including DUI, resisting arrest without violence, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Boucher was booked and released from jail on August 31 and is scheduled to appear in court on October 21.
