Trump Comments on Oil Prices and Midterm Elections

'Right after the election, oil prices are going to be tumbling downward,' Trump said, adding that he believes the conflict will end shortly after the elections as Iran will not be able to sustain its position. The price of international Brent crude oil rose more than 3% on the same day, surpassing $100 for the first time since July. Trump also mentioned that the Republican convention was sold out and expressed confidence in the turnout, despite some Republican candidates opting to campaign in their home states instead of attending. Additionally, Trump discussed his views on Michael Cohen, his former lawyer, who has expressed a desire for a pardon after serving time for federal crimes. Trump stated he had not been asked about pardoning Cohen but acknowledged Cohen's recent statements about their past relationship. The president was seen boarding Air Force One, where an emergency slide was deployed for safety checks ahead of his flight to Texas.
