Fetterman, who was elected in 2022 after suffering a stroke, has faced criticism for his attendance and participation in Senate duties. He previously sought treatment for depression and has expressed regret over the public scrutiny of his mental health. Fetterman stated, "My doctor warned years ago: After it’s public that you are getting help for depression, people will weaponize that."
