A.J. Brown exits NFL season opener against Seahawks due to ankle injury

<p>A.J. Brown's debut with the New England Patriots was interrupted by an injury in the third quarter of Wednesday's NFL season opener against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field.</p><p>Brown appeared to sustain the injury while attempting to make a catch. At the time of his exit, New England was leading 10-0.</p><p>Brown went down after a Seahawks defender rolled into him and remained on the field after the play. Medical personnel attended to him, and he was able to walk to the sideline without assistance.</p><p>He later entered the blue medical tent before heading to the locker room wearing only one cleat. Brown was ruled out for the remainder of the game due to an ankle injury. He finished the game with three receptions for 26 yards and drew a 34-yard pass interference penalty that set up the Patriots' first touchdown.</p><p>New England led Seattle 10-3 at the start of the fourth quarter.</p><p>Seattle's quarterback Sam Darnold left the game in the first quarter and was also ruled out, with Drew Lock taking over as the quarterback for Seattle.</p>
