Another Person Seen Climbing Out of NYC Manhole in Queens

A person was observed climbing out of a manhole in Queens early Monday, according to police. The incident occurred at Juniper Boulevard South and 74th Street in Middle Village just after 4 a.m. An observer called 911 after seeing the individual, who remains unidentified and is believed to be in his 20s. He was last seen wearing a red and black bandana and ran off with four other men who were near the manhole, as reported by law enforcement sources. It is unclear if the other men had also emerged from the manhole. This incident follows a recent occurrence where three individuals wearing headlamps were filmed coming out of a manhole near Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. Additionally, two months prior, separate sightings of men emerging from manholes in Williamsburg and Gravesend were reported, leading to citywide concerns. Investigations indicated that those involved in these incidents appeared to be scavenging for items of value that may have entered the sewer system.
