FBI Director Kash Patel Responds to Questions About Russian Oligarch's Sponsorship of Trump Wedding

Senator Richard Blumenthal raised concerns about potential espionage following reports that a close ally of Vladimir Putin financed the wedding weekend in the Bahamas.</p><p>“We learned yesterday that a Russian oligarch bankrolled the wedding of the president’s son with perhaps hundreds of thousands of dollars,” Blumenthal stated. However, Blumenthal expressed dissatisfaction with Patel's response, emphasizing that Kremlev's financial involvement had been widely reported.</p><p>A report from ProPublica indicated that Kremlev financed significant expenses for the wedding weekend, including the rental of a private island and fireworks. Bettina Trump confirmed on Instagram that Kremlev contributed to various aspects of the event but clarified that he did not specifically pay for the wedding ceremony.</p><p>Blumenthal reiterated the need for an investigation, stating, “These reports were public. They’ve been widely publicized in the press, and it would seem to me that they should be a topic of investigation for the FBI.”</p><p>Kremlev is the head of the International Boxing Association (IBA), which has been reported to be financed by the Russian state-owned energy company Gazprom. Oversight Democrats are investigating and demanding answers immediately.”</p>
