<p class="wp-block-paragraph">LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman is not supporting former Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2028 presidential race after donating $17 million to her 2024 campaign.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Speaking at the Politico summit on artificial intelligence in Washington, Hoffman expressed uncertainty about Harris's potential presidential bid. </p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">“I think it would be a very challenging path for her, and it’s going to be a very noisy field,” the billionaire donor said in a sit-down interview on Wednesday.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Hoffman’s comments follow remarks from Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA), who stated he would not seek the White House in 2028 if Harris decides to run again.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">“Of course not. Why would I? I wouldn’t do that to her,” Newsom said in a conversation with CNN host Jake Tapper while they were fishing. “I wouldn’t do it to me. Why would I? I wouldn’t waste everyone’s time. Who needs that?”</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Harris has not confirmed her intention to launch another presidential campaign, indicating she is actively considering it. Currently, her focus is on the midterm elections.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Regarding Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Hoffman expressed more confidence in her chances for 2028. </p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">“It depends a little bit,” he said when asked if he would endorse the progressive lawmaker if she runs for president in two years. “I think she’s much more pragmatic than people give her credit for.”</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Ocasio-Cortez has not ruled out a presidential run yet, while speculation continues about her potential candidacy for the Senate instead. She is viewed as a possible successor to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), whose seat is up for election in 2028.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In 2024, Hoffman was one of the top donors to Harris’s campaign, contributing approximately $17 million, which is lower than Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz’s roughly $38 million contribution. Hoffman’s net worth is estimated at $2.7 billion.</p>
