White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles underwent a medical procedure related to her breast cancer diagnosis at the Mayo Clinic earlier this week, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter. Wiles was diagnosed with breast cancer in March. Following the procedure, she resumed her work, making phone calls and running meetings, as reported by two sources. Spokespeople for the White House did not immediately disclose the reason for her visit to the medical facility, which is located outside Washington, D.C. In her March statement announcing her illness, Wiles noted that approximately one in eight women are diagnosed with breast cancer and expressed her intention to continue working. "Every day, these women continue to raise their families, go to work, and serve their communities with strength and determination," Wiles stated. President Trump commented on her diagnosis, stating that she had a "fantastic medical team" and an "excellent prognosis." Last week, Wiles traveled with the president to Dallas for the Republican midterm convention, as indicated by an Air Force One manifest provided by the White House. Wiles is a longtime political consultant in Florida and served as campaign manager for President Trump's 2024 bid for the White House. She is also the daughter of the late football broadcaster Pat Summerall.
