Savannah James becomes investor in new professional volleyball team in Los Angeles

Savannah James has been named an investor for League One Volleyball (LOVB) Los Angeles, which is set to begin its inaugural season in 2026-27. This announcement comes as her daughter, Zhuri James, has taken an interest in volleyball, having participated in the LOVB Championship in Long Beach earlier this year. Savannah James stated, "I’ve seen firsthand through my daughter Zhuri how powerful volleyball can be for young girls, the confidence, discipline and sense of community it creates." She expressed excitement about being part of LOVB Los Angeles and contributing to the development of the league. The league features notable athletes, including Lexi Rodriguez, a former Nebraska Cornhusker, and Olympic medalist Carli Lloyd, who will be part of the Los Angeles team. The team will play at the Intuit Dome, and is scheduled to reveal its official name, logo, and brand identity on September 25, 2026. A Fan Fest event is planned for September 26, allowing fans to meet players and celebrate the launch of professional women’s volleyball in Los Angeles.
