F-16 Military Aircraft Crashes in Northern Michigan

<p>Emergency crews are responding to reports of a military aircraft that went down in Michigan on Thursday, according to the Texas Military Department.</p> <p>The F-16 aircraft was on a routine training mission from the Air National Guard’s Combat Readiness Training Center in Alpena, Michigan, when an incident occurred, according to officials.</p> <p>The pilot safely ejected from the aircraft and was taken to the hospital.</p> <p>The F-16 Fighting Falcon was part of the 149th Fighter Wing when it went down in Grand Traverse County.</p> <p>A shelter-in-place warning was put into effect for County Road 633 from Jefferson Place to Blair Townhall Road, according to the Grand Traverse County Emergency Management. Residents were advised to shelter indoors and close windows and vents.</p> <p>The incident is being investigated.</p>
