Flights Grounded at Three US Airports Due to Radio Equipment Issue

<p>Senator Ron Wyden has called for immediate action following a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report indicating that systems guiding US aircraft are vulnerable to interference. A congressional watchdog has issued a warning about the potential for interference and deception in these systems.</p><p>On Monday, at approximately 10 AM, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) implemented a ground stop for Newark Liberty International, Philadelphia International, and Teterboro airports due to a problem with radio equipment. The FAA reported that some radio frequencies at the Philadelphia Terminal Radar Approach Control (Tracon) were affected until early afternoon. As a result, arrivals and departures at Newark were delayed. The FAA has not disclosed the cause of the outage.</p>
