Kentucky Powerball Winner Arrested for Public Intoxication

James Farthing, a $167 million Powerball winner from Kentucky, was arrested for public intoxication after being found asleep in a running Ford Mustang in a Walmart parking lot. This incident marks the fifth time he has been arrested since winning the jackpot last year. According to reports, deputies responded to a call about a vehicle stopped in an intersection around 3 a.m. on Sunday in Georgetown. Upon arrival, they discovered Farthing alone in the car, exhibiting signs of impairment such as the smell of alcohol and marijuana, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and difficulty maintaining balance. Farthing claimed a woman had driven him to the parking lot, but surveillance footage did not support this. He was charged with alcohol intoxication and taken to the Scott County Detention Center. Farthing's previous legal troubles include domestic violence charges, a hit-and-run incident, and charges related to intimidating a legal participant. He is scheduled for arraignment on public intoxication charges on Tuesday.
