India defeated Sri Lanka by 147 runs in the final of the women's cricket tournament at the Asian Games, retaining their gold medal. Smriti Mandhana scored 79 runs, leading India to a total of 216-3, the highest women's total in Asian Games history. Sri Lanka was bowled out for 69 runs in 15.4 overs, with captain Chamari Athapaththu contributing 29 runs. India’s innings featured 18 fours and 13 sixes. The match took place on Tuesday at the Korogi Athletic Park in Nagoya. After winning the toss, India opted to bat first, with Mandhana and Shafali Verma forming a strong opening partnership of 99 runs. Verma scored 48 runs off 29 balls before being dismissed. Mandhana reached her fifty in the same over and continued to score aggressively until her dismissal in the 17th over. Richa Ghosh added 49 runs off 22 balls, helping India surpass 200 runs in the final over. In the bronze medal match, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 31 runs, with captain Fatima Sana scoring 45 runs off 30 balls.
