Philippines National Pleads Guilty to Illegal Voting in 2024 Election

<p>Evelyn Miller, a 37-year-old woman from Emmaus, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty on September 16, 2026, to illegally voting in the 2024 election, according to federal prosecutors. Miller, who is a lawful permanent resident but not a U.S. citizen, registered to vote online on October 9, 2024, just weeks before the election.</p><p>Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) began investigating Miller after receiving information about potential illegal voting in Lehigh County. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that Miller voted in person on November 5, 2024, during the general election.</p><p>HSI and FBI agents interviewed Miller at her home in July 2025, where she confirmed her registration and voting. Miller had received lawful permanent resident status on July 19, 2024, during the Biden administration.</p><p>DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin commented on the case, stating, "This alien from the Philippines pleaded guilty to illegally voting in the 2024 election in Pennsylvania." He emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of American elections.</p><p>Miller's case is part of a broader investigation by the Justice Department into election-related cases from the 2024 election. On September 18, federal prosecutors announced that 16 individuals had been charged in separate cases involving illegal voting and related election crimes across multiple states.</p><p>Miller is scheduled for sentencing on December 16, 2026, and she faces a potential sentence of up to one year in prison, one year of supervised release, and a $100,000 fine.</p>
