Nasser Al-Attiyah Wins Shooting Gold at Asian Games Following Dakar Rally Victory

Nasser Al-Attiyah of Qatar has achieved a notable milestone by winning a gold medal in shooting at the Asian Games, coinciding with his recent victory in the Dakar Rally. The 55-year-old athlete was part of the Qatar men’s skeet team that secured gold on September 23, 2026, in Nagoya, Japan, finishing ahead of teams from Kuwait and India. This marks Al-Attiyah's third gold medal at the Asian Games, having previously won in 2002 and 2010, bringing his total medal count at the Games to six. Additionally, he earned a bronze medal in skeet shooting at the 2012 London Olympics. Al-Attiyah's latest achievement adds to his impressive collection of accolades in motorsport, which includes six Dakar Rally titles. He won his most recent Dakar title earlier in 2026, alongside Belgian co-driver Fabian Lurquin, driving a Dacia and achieving a total of 50 stage wins in his career.
