Elizabeth Holmes Barred from Contacting Investors Following Prison Sentence

This ban is in effect as she prepares for her release from prison.</p><p>The court documents specify that Holmes must not have any contact with the victims unless directed by a probation officer. She is required to pay a total of $452 million in restitution to her investors after Theranos was revealed to be a fraudulent enterprise.</p><p>Among her restitution obligations, Holmes owes $125 million to Rupert Murdoch, who has described himself as “one of a bunch of old men taken in by a seemingly great young woman.” She also owes significant amounts to Walgreens and Safeway.</p><p>Holmes, who was convicted of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud, has been incarcerated at the minimum-security Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, for the past three years. She is scheduled to transition to a halfway house in August 2027, with her official release date set for February 22, 2030. Holmes has also applied for a commutation of her sentence, which is currently pending.</p><p>As part of her probation conditions, Holmes must provide her probation officer with access to her financial records, authorize credit checks, participate in a mental health treatment program, and allow searches of her residence and other properties.</p><p>Holmes has recently gained attention following the release of a trailer for a documentary titled <i>You Can See Everything</i>, which focuses on her life and career. One of her former investors, Alan Eisenman, expressed concerns that the documentary might portray her in a sympathetic light, stating, “She’s obviously manipulative. If people don’t see that, then they’re blind.”</p>
